Ride Sharing Services Add to Road Congestion, New Study Finds

Do ridesharing like Uber and others cause traffic jams? A new study conducted in America of industry leaders Uber and Lyft found that these transportation network companies (TNCs) have been exacerbating the challenges of urban transportation since their debut in the US. Those involved in the study said they examined three aspects of the impact of TNCs on urban mobility in the US - traffic congestion, transit drivers and private vehicle ownership to arrive at the conclusion. Although the conclusion might be different in other parts of the world, it is very important that this question be investigated in more detail. The study was published in Nature Sustainability in an article entitled "The Impact of Transport Network Operators on Urban Mobility". The researchers were from the Singapore Alliance for Research and Technology Center, Department of Urban Research and Planning, MIT, and the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University in China. A history of constant activity is strongly linked to a reduced risk of severe Covid-19, according to a new study published Tuesday. The Kaiser Permanente study, published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, looked at nearly 50,000 adults with Covid-19. The study found that those who met the goal of the U.S. Department of Health's guidelines for physical activity - of at least 150 minutes per week of moderate to vigorous physical activity - had significantly fewer cases of hospitalization, ICU admissions, and death due to a Covid-19 disease. The guidelines, which are in line with the guidelines of many World Health Organization organizations, are based on research that supports the ability of physical activity to boost immune function, reduce systemic inflammation, improve pulmonary and cardiovascular health, and improve mental health . With all of the benefits of regular exercise, it's not surprising that physical activity that follows these guid

IRVINE, Calif .-- (BUSINESS WIRE) - Masimo (NASDAQ: MASI) today announced the results of a summary presented at ANESTHESIOLOGY 2021 in San Diego in which Drs. Anita Kulkarni and Arti Dalal of the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute in New Delhi, India, investigated the use of non-invasive, continuous Masimo PVi® as part of targeted fluid therapy (GDFT) to control intraoperative hydration during major oncosurgery, where lung ultrasound (LUS) is used to diagnose extravascular lung water (EVLW) used. The researchers found that using PVi as a dynamic, continuous method of managing hydration resulted in patients receiving less fluids and fewer B-lines (a measure of EVLW), with no post-operative perfusion or oxygenation compared Too significantly decreased using a central venous pressure (CVP) -controlled protocol for fluid administration. 1 This press release c
