Twitter users could soon be able to tip their favourite accounts

Twitter was expected to introduce a new Tip JAR functionality for its audio-only Spaces platform. The company later confirmed the addition of the feature, but now Twitter wants to add a tip button to individual profiles as well. A new button hidden in the Twitter app suggests that the feature might be just around the corner. Jane Manchun Wong, researcher at The Verge, unveiled the Tip Glass button, which is reportedly currently being tested prior to a full rollout. Just like the tip jar on Twitter Spaces, the new tip button will be incorporated into a number of popular payment portals so that users can easily send money to others. Check out the tweet below. Twitter could soon offer a user profile tip that can be used to get paid users who have significant followers for their great tweets. HIGHLIGHTS Twitter has recently been experimenting with different ways it can enable its influencers to make money on the platform. The upcoming Twitter feature could include a Tip Jar that users can use to tip other users for their tweets. Twitter is also experimenting with Super Follows, which allow members to bill for exclusive content from a creator. App researcher Jane Manchun Wong found that Twitter is exploring features like tips to give other Twitter users the option to pay for their tweets.
