Apple to help employees get Covid 19 vaccine at its offices
Apple is one of the first major Silicon Valley companies to launch a program to help workers get vaccinated. Earlier this month, Facebook announced that part of its headquarters in Menlo Park will be converted into a vaccination center.

Apple has announced that it will help its employees get voluntary Covid 19 vaccinations in their offices. The tech giant is working with drugstore chain Walgreens Boots Alliance as a seller and will open a website for its employees to register for appointments, an Apple spokeswoman told Reuters. Apple is one of the first major Silicon Valley companies to launch a program to help workers get vaccinated.
Earlier this month, Facebook announced that it was converting part of its Menlo Park headquarters into a vaccination facility and was joining efforts by the government to accelerate vaccination campaigns in the US.
Last month, Amazon began on-site vaccinations for frontline workers, starting with Missouri, Nevada, and Kansas in the US. Amazon has allocated up to $ 80 to frontline employees with no access to on-site clinics to incentivize employees to get COVID-19 vaccines. Amazon has also announced that Alexa will help customers access information about Covid 19 vaccines and where to buy them. The new feature allows users to call vaccination centers to check availability and find nearby vaccination centers. When users prompt the voice assistant with the words “Alexa, call the first”, users are connected directly to a vaccination site and receive more information about the availability of appointments. However, the feature is currently only available in the United States, and the company may expand to other countries soon.
Meanwhile, Google has announced new funding for India worth Rs.135 billion, including two grants from Google.org, the tech giant's philanthropic arm. The total amount from these grants is Rs 20 crore. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, wrote in a tweet: "Devastated by the worsening Covid crisis in India." India recorded more than three lakh cases for the fifth consecutive year on Monday, bringing the country's case number to 1.73 crores and 1.95 lakh deaths.
Microsoft has also expanded Aid to indicate that the company will support purchases of critical oxygen equipment in addition to ongoing support from relief efforts, technology, and other resources. “The current situation in India broke my heart. I am grateful that the US government is mobilizing to help. Microsoft will continue to use its voice, resources and technology to support relief efforts and assist in the purchase of critical oxygen concentration devices, ”tweeted Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO.
