The Telegram Update introduces Payments 2.0, Voice Chat Scheduling and more.

Following the introduction of clubhouse-style voice chats on its platform, the encrypted messaging app Telegram has announced a new update to add further improvements to voice chats and a host of additional features.

The new update offers Payments 2.0 for all Telegram chats, scheduling and mini profiles for voice chats, new Telegram apps for your browser and much more. The new update also offers a timer to automatically delete messages in each chat, as well as new flexible invitation links and faster access to your chats.

"We added support for payments for the first time in 2017. With payment bots, users could securely pay for goods and services without leaving the app - from ordering a pizza to calling a taxi to replacing winter tires when you're tired of winter . " The company said in a blog post on Monday.

"Starting today, merchants can natively accept credit card payments in any chat, relying on 8 built-in third-party payment providers like Stripe," he added.

Buyers can add a tip when purchasing to show extra love to their favorite artists, stores, or delivery drivers. Payments can now be made from any app - including desktop apps.

This is a free and privacy-conscious platform - Telegram does not take any commission and does not store any payment information.

Any merchant can use the payment API without getting additional permissions from Telegram. Developers interested in integrating payments can find all the details in the payments guide.

Voice chats offer users the opportunity to meet up with a few friends or listen to massive broadcasts with millions of listeners.

Group and channel administrators can now schedule a voice chat for a specific date and time instead of creating one right away. This gives community members time to let their friends know and get the popcorn ready.

Users see a colorful countdown at the top of the chat. Those too busy to see the countdown can choose to receive a notification when voice chat starts. The users can also change their profile picture and edit the BIOS without leaving the chat.

The company also announced that it will add two new, full-featured Telegram web apps - both of which support animated stickers, dark mode, chat folders, and more. With the new web versions, you can instantly access your chats on any device - desktop or mobile phone - according to the company.

Photos and videos can now be expanded right from chat - just press to zoom in instantly without tapping to open the media viewer.
