Palm Desert-based technology entrepreneur Bear Simerson, co-founder of 3C.Health, took first place in the fourth annual Riverside County Fast Pitch Final.

"I was really shocked when they announced the winner," says Simerson. "There have been some great companies with great presentations. But when we won it was an amazing feeling."

The "Fast Pitch" final was attended by five entrepreneurs who each received the highest honors in an official regional pitch competition held during Riverside County Innovation Month. The competition is similar to the "Shark Tank", in which entrepreneurs submit their ideas to a jury.

As one of the three co-founders of 3C Health, Simerson helped develop a platform that enables remote patient monitoring and automates the exchange of information between doctors and healthcare providers. Their solution, under development for three years, also uses artificial intelligence to anticipate patient needs.

Simerson won the "Fast Pitch" in the Greater Palm Springs area to qualify for the finals.

"It was great endorsement of the work we have done to present this panel of judges who were very knowledgeable about business and healthcare. It was great," said Simerson Tom Tucker of News Channel 3 following his regional victory earlier this month.

"Every year the competition from our region gets more impressive," said Laura James, CVEP's vice president of innovation. "We're seeing an increase in highly educated entrepreneurs like Bear with ideas that solve real problems and the tenacity to get them done. We look forward to continuing to provide guidance to this outstanding new iHub portfolio company in Palm Springs as it extends that cut." edge business in Greater Palm Springs. "

Simerson is the first Greater Palm Springs entrepreneur to come first. Simerson was also part of another premiere of the competition as he was part of the first stalemate in "Fast Pitch" history. Simerson shared the top spot with Steve Ward, founder of Future N Focus Dream Catcher Enterprises in Riverside

The judges, after deliberation, said that "no additional discussion would change the fact that they saw two
equally qualified top competitors. "

The first place prize of $ 10,000 and the second place prize of $ 5,000 were combined and divided equally between the two first place winners, with each prize taking home $ 7,500.

“This validates our view of how we should feel in health care, and we are even more inspired to bring this vision to life in our community. The guidance and resources CVEP provided in advance of the competition were so valuable for our presentation that we cannot thank them enough for their continued support, ”said Simerson of his victory.

3C Health is a growing startup looking to hire up to 12 people in Greater Palm Springs by the end of 2021.
