When Six Flags first launched its Mr. Six campaign in 2004, the company went to great lengths to hide the identity of the man behind the Old Man costume. "He's the spirit of Six Flags," a Six Flags executive told USA Today in 2004. "He comes to free people from their boredom."

But in 2006, rumors started circulating that the older dancer was a then 29-year-old dancer Danny Teeson. At the time, Teeson was best known as a performer on Queer Eye for the Straight Girl, a spin-off from the hit Bravo television show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Teeson, now 46, grew up in the UK and, according to his LinkedIn profile, attended the Laine Theater Arts dance school in Surrey. Shortly after graduating from Laine, Teeson appeared in the original London cast of the musical Fame.

Not long after that, he got his iconic mascot role. In a 2018 interview with Bustle, Teeson revealed that he had to sign a nondisclosure agreement when he signed up as Mr. Six. "People speculated that it was really an old man. A publication said it was Paris Hilton“Said Teeson to Bustle. “It was fun when friends around me found out that as Mr. Six, I had a completely secret alter ego. It's still fun and surprising when you do it all those years later. I actually did a job in Dallas Park as Mr. Six, dancing next to a friend I had known for 20 years, and she had no idea it was me until I told her years later. "

In 2009, Teeson was a judge on a short-lived dance competition show. After that, according to his IMDb profile, he landed an appearance as a director and choreographer on the Disney Channel. While there, he choreographed routines for a number of Disney productions, including KC Undercover, Austin & Ally, and Girl Meets World.

Teeson recently designed theater shows for Princess Cruises, he told Bustle. He has also choreographed shows for pop stars, including Carrie Underwood, Paula Abdul |, and Kelly Clarksonhe told the socket.

Teeson told Bustle that the feeling of getting the part was "amazing". "I actually cried because it was such a big deal back then and the contract was for three years, which is amazing in my industry. I never thought I'd get it," he said.

Unfortunately for Teeson, Mr. Six was eighty-six years old in 2005 as an entrepreneur Dan Snyder took over Six Flags and decided the amusement park needed renovation, the New York Post reported.

Six Flags eventually realized his mistake and brought Mr. Six back in 2009. At this point, Teeson had already moved on. But he told Bustle that he still fondly remembers the role. Playing Mr. Six was "a really special time for me," he said, "and I've had amazing experiences as a rock star in disguise."
