Technology High Named A Top U.S. High School: U.S. News
ROHNERT PARK, CA - The Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District's Technology High has been named one of the best high schools in the United States for 2021, according to a new ranking by US News and World Report.
This year's list includes more than 17,800 public high schools across the country and 2,598 public high schools in California.
Among those schools, Technology High was ranked # 263 in the nation, # 35 in the state of California, and # 1 in the Santa Rosa Metro Area. Technology High received a total of 98.53 points on its scorecard from its US news: 74 percent of students have taken at least one Advanced Placement exam, 63 percent have passed at least one AP exam, the school has 82 percent math skills, 96 percent about reading skills. and a completion rate of 100 percent.
Elsewhere in the district, Credo High was ranked 9,219 in the nation and 1,092 in California with a 91 percent graduation rate, while Rancho Cotate High was ranked 9,918 in the nation and No. 1,123 with a 91 percent graduation rate in the state.
The purpose of the ranking is to provide insight into the academic performance of underserved groups and to show how well schools are supporting these students, Anita Narayan, editor-in-chief of education at US News, said in a press release.
Families can also use the rankings to see how schools at the national, state, and local levels compare based on factors such as graduation rates and college readiness, Narayan said.
The Thomas Jefferson High School of Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia, was ranked # 1 in the nation and among magnet schools.

- Merrol Hyde Magnet School - Hendersonville, Tennessee
- BASE Chandler - Chandler, Arizona
- Gwinnett School of Math, Science, and Technology - Lawrenceville, Georgia
- Signature School - Evansville, Indiana
The methodology used for this year's ranking focused on six factors: college readiness, reading and math skills, reading and math performance, under-served student performance, breadth of the college curriculum, and graduation rates.
The data used in this edition is from the 2018-2019 school year and was therefore not affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to national rankings, US News also published rankings at the state, subway, and school district levels. Only metro areas and school districts with three or more high schools were included in these subgroups.
