Aspen Technology: Fiscal Q3 Earnings Snapshot


BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) _ Aspen Technology Inc. (AZPN) on Wednesday reported net income of $ 62.5 million for the third quarter of its fiscal year.

On a stock basis, the Bedford, Massachusetts-based company reported a profit of 91 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and charges, were $ 1.05 per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street's expectations. The average estimate by four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was earnings of $ 1.16 per share.

The software manufacturer had sales of 162.7 million US dollars in the reporting period, with the road forecasts also missing. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $ 173 million.

Aspen Technology expects full year earnings in the range of $ 4.98 to $ 5.22 per share with revenue in the range of $ 705 to $ 729 million.

Aspen Technology shares are up 17% year-to-date. In the last few minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $ 152.89, up 58% over the past 12 months.
